It's time for another Samuel Adams beer! This is my third one ever! This time it's Samuel Adams Boston Ale!
This is an American Pale Ale (A.P.A) from the Boston Beer Company. This beer gets a B overall on Beer Advocate and the Bro's also give it a B. It has an overal ABV of 4.94%
It pours a beautiful amber color with a thick, creamy, white head. The head sticks around and remains as a film after it has gone down, leaving lacing on the glass.
Smells of toasted caramel malts and a sweet banana smell. Upon the second smell you get a nice hop presence. There were some other fruity notes in the smell, but a smell of banana seemed to be most prevalent.
Upon tasting this beer you get a surprise. From the smell you are expecting a sweeter tasting beer and the hop presence balances out the malts and fruity notes quite well. Very well balanced flavor. Sweet and toasty at first, balanced by a hop bitterness at the end.
Moderately carbonated and easy drinkabilty make this an ideal beer. It gets a GLASS FULL!
